Key capabilities of the AlcoChange prescription programme for adults aged 18 or over with ARLD

What AlcoChange Delivers

A prescription-only Class IIa SaMD that supports the reduction of alcohol use and maintenance of abstinence, as an adjunct to standard clinical care

Personalised Behaviour Change

AlcoChange delivers behavioural change interventions using 34 digital behaviour change techniques based on the CyberLiver Behaviour Change (CBC) Model. Over 150 behaviour change notifications provide personalised, timely support adapted to each patient's logged behaviours and engagement patterns.

Alcohol Unit Logging

Patients log their daily alcohol consumption in units through a simple mobile interface. Self-reported consumption data is tracked throughout the 90-day programme, enabling patients to monitor their own progress against personal goals and providing clinicians with longitudinal consumption trends.

Validated Questionnaires

AlcoChange incorporates validated clinical instruments, including AUDIT-C scoring, to establish baseline alcohol consumption and track changes over time. Structured assessment outputs are presented to the supervising clinical team through the clinician dashboard.

Clinician Dashboard

A web-based clinician dashboard enables the supervising clinical team to monitor each patient's progress. The dashboard presents behavioural-risk stratification, engagement metrics, and questionnaire outputs in a single view, supporting clinical decision-making within the existing care pathway.

Clinical Oversight Notifications

The system generates clinical oversight notifications when a patient's behavioural patterns indicate increased risk of relapse or disengagement. These notifications are presented to the supervising clinical team, supporting timely review within the standard care pathway. They do not constitute clinical advice or automated intervention.

Optional Digital Breathalyser

The AlcoChange Digital Breathalyser II (ADBII) is an optional Bluetooth-connected accessory for indoor use only. It provides a qualitative indication of the presence or absence of alcohol on the breath. The ADBII is non-measuring and does not quantify blood alcohol concentration. Patients may complete the programme without it.
